Our raw food range is completely uncooked apart from the butternut squash.
Our wet food is cooked in the tin at 130°c for 20 minutes (at 3bar pressure).
Details of our extrusion process for our extruded dry kibble can be seen below:
Pre-Conditioner: 60-80°c for 5-10 minutes
Extruder: 90-130°c for 1 minute
Drier: 130-170°c for 20-30 minutes
Our dry kibble is cooked to above 90°c using steam and mechanical pressure between the twin barrel extruder, this is the lowest temperature to guarantee that any possible bacterial contamination (not that we should have any) is killed off - the temperature will vary slightly with each recipe though. It then goes through a drier which will generally run at 140°c but can vary slightly depending on the recipe and even different batches of the same product. Any lower than this and the active moisture content would not be low enough to achieve 12-18 months shelf life.
