Is Akela suitable for weight-loss or weight-gain?

Yes, monitor your dog's weight and adjust the daily feed amount accordingly.  We recommend reducing the daily feed amount by 10% for overweight dogs until they reach the ideal weight for their breed and then increasing slightly to maintain and vice versa for underweight dogs. You can find more information on our feeding guide. Remember any weight change should be achieved in a slow and steady way.

If your dog is unable to gain weight after a 10% increase in feeding amount then we would recommend checking that they are actually eating all of the food that you are putting down for them, that no other dogs/cats etc are eating it instead and that they are not regurgitating or being sick. Dogs can be allergic to any ingredient so an allergy test would also be recommended in this scenario. As ever, please consult your vet if concerned.
