Yes, all of our packaging is recyclable where facilities exist. We are an environmentally friendly business and do try to keep the packaging to a minimum whilst ensuring there is sufficient packaging to prevent damage. In terms of recycling:
- Our plastic dry kibble bags are PE 07 (all other plastics) and can be recycled at most large supermarkets where they accept soft plastics
- We are currently working on developing a paper-based alternative, which will be rolled out once current stocks are used up
- Our tin cans are fully recyclable
- The gel packs can be re-used and are non-toxic
- The ice packs contain water and can be re-used if you wish or defrosted, burst and recycled
- Our wet food tins can be crushed and recycled
- All of our surplus cardboard, polystyrene and shrink wrap is compacted on site and sold
Our sister company, where our UK warehouse is located, recently won a Net Zero Champions award for the 1100 solar panels that they covered their roof with plus polystyrene, cardboard and shrink wrap compactors that they have had installed.
