My cat likes your dog food! What's the difference?

Our cat and working dog food recipes are very similar and based on a naturual high-meat content diet. There are subtle differences. Our cat food contains added taurine and our dry food range has a higher meat & fish content (90% versus 80%). Cats and dogs can eat either of our foods as treats but we recommend feeding the species-specific ones long-term.

Dogs are facultative carnivores and have evolved to thrive on a meat-based diet but can survive on a scavenger diet. Cat, however, are obligate carnivores and have evolved to survive on a meat-based diet. Dogs can synthesise taurine but cats cannot. As FEDIAF guidelines are based upon low-meat cheap-filler diets, they require us to add taurine to our cat food recipes even though the high meat content contains sufficient taurine. Taurine is also therapeutic for dogs.
